"I really enjoyed getting to know my neighbors. Everyone was so welcoming and eager to make friends." |
Assisted Living, sometimes called Personal Care, provides a residential living option for persons who do not need the services of a nursing home, but may require assistance with some of their daily activities. Dock Woods recognizes that persons exploring Assisted Living are still very interested in maintaining an independent lifestyle.
Because most persons desire to stay in their own home as long as possible, it can be difficult when the time comes to explore other living arrangements. When families consider Assisted Living, it is usually because of concern for a loved one's comfort, health, Assisted Living provides a safe, caring environment where residents enjoy their own private apartment, opportunities for socialization, and access to additional help if it is needed. Staff prepares a care plan for each resident, suited to their individual needs and preferences. This plan is reviewed regularly to ensure the resident is able to maintain their independence as long as possible. The benefit of Assisted Living is most often recognized after the move. With less focus on caring for a home and other chores, residents can rekindle hobbies, form valuable friendships and explore new opportunities. |
"Mom wasn't able to live alone anymore, and we are so glad she is somewhere that she is cared about and respected."
